5 Tweaks to Get More Clients from Your Website

In today’s video, I want to share with you 5 tweaks that you can make to get more clients from your website. Make sure that you watch until the end because I’m hosting something super exciting really soon, and I want you to know about it.

So, I’m already assuming that you know that your website needs to be well-designed and professional. We’re going to talk about some tweaks beyond that.

#1 – Build An Email List

The first tweak that you can make to get more clients from your website is to build an email list. I’m sure you’ve heard it from a ton of other people talking about online business, but it really is so important, and you are going to get the most clients and sales from your email list.

If you don’t have that added it to your website right now, this is definitely the first thing that I would recommend you do. Rather than just saying Contact me to work with me, you can actually start to build an email list. How do you do that? I would recommend that you actually create something of high value for free that you can offer first - something that you can offer someone in exchange for an email address.

The days of just saying, Subscribe to my newsletter, unfortunately, are no longer working because that’s just not very exciting and everyone does have a very full inbox now. Instead, offer something that demonstrates your expertise and that provides value for someone upfront. Then you can get an email address from them and follow up with them afterwards and introduce them to your services.

You really want to be building up the asset of your email list in your business. What you’ll do is continue to build up the relationship with your subscribers by sending out more free content and helping them with their problems. And then, when you do have something to sell to them, that’s totally cool as well, and you can send out an email to those same people and watch the sales come in.

#2 – Add Your Photo

The next thing that you can do to get more clients from your website is to add a photo of you. People work with people, and people love to see who is behind the business and who is behind the actual website - personal connection is so important in terms of getting clients. Make sure that you at least have a photo of you on your About page, but I would love to see, as you progress, even more photos added throughout your website.

#3 – Create Individual Sales Pages

The next tweak that you can make to get more clients from your website is to create an individual sales page for each one of your services. A lot of people are quite vague with their services online and kind of just say, Hey I do life-coaching, Contact me – but, instead, what I would love to see is an actual sales page detailing all of the information about your service on that one page. Rather than trying to sell lots of different things at once, just have a separate page for each one of those services. The only exception I would say to this is if you have different price points for the same service – that is totally fine and that can go on one page.

#4 – Add More Calls-To-Action

The next tweak you can make to get more clients from your website is to add more calls-to-action. When I say calls-to-action, I mean actually telling someone what the next step is. This is often displayed on your website with a button - Download This, Click here for the next steps – whatever it is. It is super important that you’re not leaving people to go through a page and then get to the bottom and have no idea what they should do next. You absolutely want to be guiding people through your website and telling them where you want them to go next.

The next point I would add to this is, are you actually asking for the sale? How often do we say, I wish I was getting more sales in my online business, where are all the clients? - but maybe there are some right there in front of you, who are already coming to your website, you are just not asking for the sale. So, add more of the sales-type buttons to your website.

#5 – Clarify Your Messaging

Finally, the last tweak to get more clients from your website is to clarify your messaging. As I’ve worked with more and more entrepreneurs on their website, I’ve come to realize that the number one struggle is actually messaging.

As entrepreneurs, we want to help everyone - and I love that about us – that’s so nice – but the problem with that is it makes it very difficult for people to understand if it’s the right fit for them. You do have to narrow it down. I would say you don’t have to go crazy on your niche, but you do have to clarify exactly what you’re doing in a very succinct way that makes it easy for the person to understand.

Marie Forleo says, If you confuse people, you lose people - and it is so true. With our website, we don’t want people having to work really hard to figure out what it is that you do and who you do it for. I would actually love to see you do this above the fold – that means before someone has to scroll down on your website. I would love it if, right there, you clarify exactly what you do and who you do it for on your Home page. Make it super easy for people to understand and know that they are in the right place.

Those are my quick and easy tweaks that you can make to get more clients from your website.
